Welcome to the beautiful Midlands (Greater Columbia, Lexington, Camden and Sumter areas), home of Fort Jackson and Shaw Air Force Base and prominent force-projection/deployable units such as 9th Air Force/AFCENT and 3rd Army/U.S. Army Central. As a former service-member of ARCENT and U.S. Central Command, I am intimately familiar with the operational tempo of these units. My wife Sharon and I are natives to South Carolina.  After 23 years of traveling alongside me with the military, and with multiple PCS moves, we returned to the Midlands region of South Carolina as our final home...putting down roots, as we call it.
